Accessibility Statement

Our aim is to ensure that visitors to our website have a positive experience from the outset. We have taken steps to ensure content included on the site is as clear and concise as possible, and endeavour to improve accessibility in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.

We are committed to creating a site that avoids jargon and uses plain English and Welsh. We aim to present all information in a logical order, keeping the design as simple and consistent as possible throughout.

Some documents or links included on the site may not be fully accessible. In these cases, instructions on how to request the information in an alternative format are included.

AbilityNet features information on how to make your device easier to use if you have a specific access requirement.

Site accessibility

We are aware that some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • some pages and document attachments include technical terminology that would not be considered plain English or Welsh
  • some heading elements may be inconsistent
  • some documents are available in formats that are not accessible to those using screen-reading software.

Given the scope of the partnership’s remit and the limited resources available within our small regional team, we have concluded that the software costs and increased administrative pressures associated with the ongoing production of fully accessible, screen-readable PDF documents would represent a disproportionate burden.

The mechanism for requesting alternative formats is highlighted on the relevant web pages. Since the partnership’s inception in 2012, we have liaised with users to ensure specific accessibility requirements are met in a timely manner.

How to request information in an alternative format

If you require any information featured on this site in a different format, please contact us via one of the channels listed on our Contact Us page. You will need to provide us with:

  • the name of the document or web page that you require
  • the type of format you require
  • your name and contact details.

We aim to respond to requests within 3 working days.

This statement applies to content published on the www.westglamorgan.org.uk domain. It does not apply to the websites of our partner organisations or websites belonging to other work streams associated with the West Glamorgan Regional Partnership (e.g. the West Glamorgan Safeguarding Board, or the Western Bay Adoption Service).
